Mission Statement

Grace Beyond the Track, Incorporated is a nonprofit aftercare program dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating at-risk Standardbred horses while redefining what life beyond the racetrack can look like. We exist to ensure these horses are given safety, purpose, and opportunity—long after their racing careers end.

Our work focuses on removing Standardbreds from slaughter-bound and high-risk pipeline situations and providing them with humane care, rehabilitation, and retraining. Through thoughtful aftercare and responsible placement, we demonstrate the breed’s remarkable versatility, athleticism, and willingness—proving they are capable of far more than pulling a cart.

Grace Beyond the Track’s first initiative, Delivered to Grace, serves as a hands-on aftercare project designed to publicly demonstrate the potential of retrained Standardbreds. Through successful, dedicated training and ethical horsemanship, horses in this program are developed and showcased in a variety of disciplines, including hunter/jumper competition, trail riding, pleasure riding, and as therapeutic and companion partners.

Education and youth involvement are central to our mission. By engaging riders and the community in the retraining and development process, we foster responsibility, empathy, and advocacy while increasing public awareness of the Standardbred’s adaptability and value beyond racing.

Our mission is inspired by Spartan, our first rescued Standardbred from SRF. His life—and his loss—left an indelible mark on our hearts and shaped the foundation of this organization.

Grace Beyond the Track was founded in honor of Spartan, whose life and loss inspired a promise—to save every Standardbred still waiting for a chance beyond the track.

Through aftercare, advocacy, education, and the Delivered to Grace project, we honor that promise—working toward a future where Standardbreds are valued not only for what they once did, but for everything they are capable of becoming.
