Grace Beyond The Track Standardbred Equine Rescue
Grace Beyond The Track, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and retraining Standardbred horses at risk of slaughter or displacement. Through professional under-saddle training, public demonstration, and lifetime-backed adoption or lease, we ensure these horses never enter auctions or slaughter pipelines and are valued for their versatility beyond racing.
We are placing Standardbreds in visible, under-saddle roles that will change public perception and increase adoptability. We will gently train them to be active show horses, doing public facing work like parties, portraits and outreach programs. We will tailor each horse to their particular strengths, offering versatility to the public while maintaining harmony for each horse. Through our programs we will reach clear adoption and readiness outcomes.
Our long-term goal is to partner with Standardbred Retirement Foundation as a retraining and placement resource specializing in under-saddle careers. By combining SRF’s track-based aftercare network with our demonstrated success in English and Western disciplines, we aim to reduce the number of Standardbreds entering auctions or slaughter pipelines.
Our program combines rescue, retraining, and prevention. We currently retain ownership of rescued Standardbreds saved from slaughter while demonstrating their success in English and Western disciplines. With funding support, we will expand to accept horses directly from the racetrack in partnership with Standardbred Retirement Foundation, intercepting horses before they enter auctions and providing lifetime-backed placement into approved homes through adoption or long-term lease.
Every horse in our program is protected by a lifetime safety net. Horses are never sold at auction, never sent to kill pens, and never allowed to enter slaughter pipelines. If an adoption or lease placement fails, the horse returns to our care without question.
Grace Beyond The Track integrates youth education and leadership into its rescue mission. Our Youth Ambassador Program allows young riders to participate in the rehabilitation, training, and public demonstration of rescued Standardbreds, fostering humane responsibility while increasing breed visibility and adoptability.
